Today's forecast: Sunny and the future looks bright! :)
Madison, my 14 yr old mut that lives with my dad (b/c she hated nyc) is just fine (I thought she was a goner yesterday). I knew she didn't like thunder, but it had been awhile since I weathered a storm with her. The storm had long since passed, yet she was still shaking to the point of convulsing and her heart was racing so fast I was convinced she was going to have a heart attack. It was crazy. I was sobbing like a 2 yr old. I called my father and the vet – they both said she'd mostly like be just fine. Really?!?!
Well, they were right. About 15 minutes later she was sleeping – same as usual. I truly didn't think her 14 yr old ticker could handle the stress. ooops. my bad. glad I was wrong. :)
Today's forecast: stormy and ominous. (my 14 yr old dog madison is not doing well. scared she's not gonna make it through the day. say a little prayer)
Wow, it’s done! I moved out of NYC today!
I can’t believe it. I’m giddy with excitement and anticipation (even as I sit here typing from my old bedroom at my father’s house)! Yes, I know. I’m a grown woman who just gave up her NYC apartment and technically lives with her dad right now. Pure comedy. It should really go over well when I meet a guy. I can either say I live at home with my dad, or I’m homeless* (both technically true statements). I’m quite the catch if I do say so myself. Hilarious.
I can confidently say I never thought this day would come;
I had quite the “relaxation” yoga experience yesterday, so I thought a more challenging yoga should be on tap for today. I need to keep my energy up as my movers are arriving first thing Monday morning – Memorial Day! I’ll be celebrating the nation’s freedom and MY freedom.
I looked online and found a “boutique” yoga studio downtown. The description intrigues me – “creative and invigorating flow”. I like the sound of that.
Location: Kula Yoga Project 28 Warren Street 4th Floor NYC
Today's forecast: cloudy with breaks of sun (trying to stay positive!!)
I was really feeling good this morning. Stress of my impending move was mounting; however, the Salvation Army Truck was scheduled to arrive early afternoon to pick up all of my donated items! Yay! I was looking forward to that feeling of relief. Purging so cathartic. One of the larger items they were planning to take was my couch. It’s a great couch; but I’d like to start fresh (where ever I end up). Shortly before they were scheduled to arrive, I stepped outside my door to run a quick errand. HOLY TOLEDO! My building had decided that they were going to PAINT – today, at that exact moment! My door, the frame and the hallways were all WET and the Salvation Army movers were about to arrive. I’m sure you see where I’m going with this... NO, SA did not take the couch. I can’t blame them. There’s no doubt it would’ve been ruined.
The stress I was hoping to relieve was back and bigger than ever, so I went online in search of a “relaxation” type yoga class. It was definitely that kind of day. I checked the Yogaworks schedule and phew, they offered one at 7:45! Things were looking up!

10:30 pm on a Friday night. Taking a break from packing. Trying to catch up on some blogging and reflecting on the fact that I move out of NYC on Monday! WOW. I can't believe it.
Today's forecast: Tsunami warning for Upper West Side. Need to keep from drowning! (Salvation Army truck coming today to pick up TONS of stuff - not ready! Why am I blogging?!)
I stumbled across an article in the New York Times that featured Greg Gumucio’s studio, Yoga to the People. Their philosophy is simple and refreshing: “Yoga to the People is a unique yoga studio with the goal of recapturing what we consider to be the essence of yoga… simply put, yoga made available to everyone.” I was intrigued, and coupled with the fact that they offer “hot” yoga, a style I had yet to review, I decided to head down.
Location: Yoga to the People 27th St. & 6th Ave. 115 W. 27th St. 3rd Fl (3 locations in NYC. Also located in Berkley & San Francisco)
