False Alarm!

Madison, my 14 yr old mut that lives with my dad (b/c she hated nyc) is just fine (I thought she was a goner yesterday). I knew she didn't like thunder, but it had been awhile since I weathered a storm with her. The storm had long since passed, yet she was still shaking to the point of convulsing and her heart was racing so fast I was convinced she was going to have a heart attack. It was crazy. I was sobbing like a 2 yr old. I called my father and the vet – they both said she'd mostly like be just fine. Really?!?!  

Well, they were right. About 15 minutes later she was sleeping – same as usual. I truly didn't think her 14 yr old ticker could handle the stress. ooops. my bad. glad I was wrong. :)

I am thoroughly intrigued by this journey of yours! As I wind down my life altering journey, which was not as life altering (mentally) as I thought, save for losing almost 60 lbs, and changing my eating habits, I will cheer on your new journey!

I read your initial comments and I often think, "that's me!" But then again, read a horoscope that is not yours and you're bound to feel the same way. In a nutshell I think many of us are "searching."

You got guts, kid, and I'll be following!

I often thought I wrote in a vacuum these past 7 months, but a comment from a guy in Ireland here, or a from a girl in South Africa there, or a request to meet from a couple from Tennessee and I realize that words have meanings and those meanings sometimes influence people in large ways and small. I assure you, you will not be alone in this journey whether you get 50 comments a day or none. I have no doubt you'll have scores of silent co-pilots.

My only good advice to you (unsolicited, of course) is from my rugby coach, "Keeping moving forward to you hear the whistle." It's simple, but often hard to do. GOOD LUCK!
