i'm camping in a petting zoo! | koa whitefish montana

Not really, but close! The campground here in Whitefish is located next door to a petting zoo and the owner lets the animals roam free during the day (he brings them in at night so they don't get eaten by grizzlies and mountain lion). This morning I woke up to a llama at my door! I guess it's better than a bear! These animals are used to being "pet", so they're way toooo friendly! I have to watch out because one of the goats is particularly fond of Lulu. Lu likes the animals except when they get too close to her kennel, I mean camper! She tried to bite the ankles of a donkey this morning. Have you ever seen a donkey and a chihuahua fight? OMG it's FUNNY! The donkey put his head down low and tried to ram Lulu. hahaha Lulu would run under his legs and bit the inside of his ankles. OMG. I had to separate them but man I wish I had it on video!!!
This goat here, with the horns, wants little lulu goat babies. NOT happening.

If your looking for some places to stop on your way to Yellowstone here are a few.
Although its probably cold there by now you can go down the rapids without a tube at Fire Hole River. Its a river thats a run off from Old Faithful so its super warm. Lots of people stop there to get sucked down the shoot. Scary but fun.
Also the family ranch is about 1 hr from West Yellowstone. Its the only privately owned Ranch in the Beaver Head National Forest. Its closed up for the winter but You could certainy park you teardrop on the property, have a drink from the well and enjoy the view(not that there is a lack of nice views). Its in Cameron Montana. I can provide you the address if you dont already have an agenda.
Last is The Grizzly Bar(Cameron Montana one mile from the ranch) a local watering hole with great beer and food. The Grizzly bear taxidermy hanging on the wall was shot and donated by my husbands Grand Father Harry Townsend. A local fishing legend. They would give you the royal treatment if they knew we sent you.
Thank you so much... sounds amazing! I'm currently in Missoula and heading back to Bozeman tomorrow. I'll use Thursday to "roughly" figure out our route into Yellowstone. My dad is meeting me in Bozeman on Friday and we'll head down to Yellowstone shortly after that! I'll keep you posted! Thanks again!!!
