Safety first!

Laying low in Whitefish one more day while Lulu recovers. She's still not 100% so I don't want to stray to far from the vet. I wouldn't be able to go on if I lost another dog, especially my little Lulu. I'll head back up to East Glacier tomorrow as long as she eats and things go well. Meanwhile, I'm playing catchup!

Here's a list of my various counter assault safety weapons!

Bear Spray: It's like pepper spray on steroids. The main ingredient is an extract of RED PEPPER oil which affects the upper respiratory system, triggering involuntary eye closure and intense burning. You're a darn fool if you don't carry this stuff around here! I was told it's best used when the bear is practically on top of you! I gave the clerk a cock-eyed glare when he said that. He replied "at least you'll be alive"! OK, that's a good argument, but I still don't think I'd wait that long!!

Pepper Spray: I keep a pepper spray on my keychain and the "breast cancer awareness" pink one in my pocket, just in case the keys aren't handy.

Taser: My electric pink taser is quite the counter assault cannon. It can incapacitate an attacker from up to 15 feet away. Unlike stun guns, TASER technology does not rely on pain compliance localized to the point of contact; rather it affects the sensory and motor functions of the nervous system and inhibits muscular control. This keeps an attacker down and immobilized for 30 seconds not just "stunned" for as long as you maintain contact. However, TASER C2 can also be used as a stun device if necessary. :) Ahh, never thought I'd own one of these! Hopefully I won't need to use it, but better to be safe than sorry.

And yes, the Taser is out of the package, registered and ready to go.
