So about a year and half ago I decided to do the online dating thing. It's really not as taboo as it used to be so I figured why not open up the dating pool! Match is one way to go, I've tried it, but it doesn't really have a good "crazy yahoo" filter. I think you have to pay extra for that feature (it's not really a feature, but it should be! I'd pay!) Anyway, I was googling around one night looking to see if there was another more discreet option with the "crazy yahoo filter" included. I found one that sounded pretty cool. I submitted my info and continued on my merry way. They only contact you if they find a guy that seems like a good fit. So...

I've dated some amazing men in NYC over the last five years! Really. I feel like I've dated some of NYC's finest. The only problem is I need a large dose of "rugged" mixed with my suit and tie guy. Hard to find here. I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that "my guy" doesn't live here – which is OK.  He's out there somewhere.

So here I am, getting ready to take off on my cross country adventure, and wouldn't you know it!!! The dating service called last Thursday and said they had the perfect match for me! Huh? C'mon! Is this for real. Only me. I'm leaving but I can still be curious, right? As long as it's not set up like Millionaire Matchmaker, I'll give it a whirl. These guys sound way more upscale and discreet, so why not. If nothing else it would make for an interesting blog post –– little did I know HOW interesting!!! Pure comedy!

I head over to the fancy hotel on Fifth Avenue yesterday to meet with the NYC "dating" director – she was great. Definitely a cool girl. I gave her my story and she was totally bummed I was moving. She thought I would definitely be a great match for her client. A little later in the conversation HIS first name came up –– that's when I almost died. I can't believe it!!! As soon as she said it, I knew it was him. Out of ALL of the single successful bachelors in NYC – I know this guy!! What are the odds! We tried to go out a few times but I was always way too busy, working into the night most days. Bad timing. He's definitely going to be a catch for someone! I have to hand it to the dating service – on paper we were pretty perfect, so she was dead on with her pick! The whole thing is really pure comedy!! Imagine if I wasn't moving and I ended up going out with him – without knowing it was him!!? Holy Toledo! You can't make this stuff up! This is my life!!

Seriously, what are the odds?!! I still can't believe it!! I've been laughing about it all night and all day! I think it's a sign!! My guy does not live in NYC. The awesome girl that I met with agreed with me – and she's been working with NYC's finest bachelors for 5 years! NYC doesn't really have a lot of successful guys that like to go camping.

The guy is seriously awesome. Not kidding. I have a perfect girl in mind so I forwarded her info to the dating service! I really think they'll be a perfect match!! Maybe I have a new career in matchmaking! I'll have to wait and see if they work out!!! Good luck my friend!!
