SO, I just received some new information regarding the celebrity poker tournament charity event in LA, June 23 – – I think it's advisable for me to begin my road trip adventure AFTER the event!!! Read about charity event here, if you haven't already!
Bill Goldberg, former World Wrestling Champion and recent star of Celebrity Apprentice, is our guardian angel. Not only did Bill make this new power wheelchair for Blake possible, but he is treating Blake to a week's worth of activities while we are in LA. Blake is so excited he can barely contain himself. You have;)
no idea what this means to a paralyzed boy who has NOTHING (no family or money) and lives in a depressing awful nursing home.
That being said, I am thinking that it's completely irrational for me to hit the road for a week, then park my car and jump on a plane (with my dog) then turn around (with my dog and a paralyzed boy) and travel to and from LA. Whoa. The more I talk about it the more completely unreasonable it sounds! The more unreasonable it is! If we were only going for a few days and I was already deep in middle america, then maybe – but it's borderline ridiculous now! And I have so much to do to get Blake ready for this trip! I already bought him a new computer, but I still need to go out and buy him summer clothes, etc... So much to do. Ahhhhh
Anyway, bear with me! I'll be documenting the entire journey to LA including the celebrity poker tournament and all of the activities with Bill. This is going to be a life-changing event for Blake and I want to capture all of it!! Stay tuned!!!
